BIO of MICHAEL F. RAY "MIPEACE"

Michael F. Ray “Mipeace”, a refreshingly unique and dynamic Christ–led man, steps straight out of the Bible belt and onto the worldwide music scene with his "New Song" (Psalm 40:3) style.  Mipeace is a minister, a Christian MC, and a producer.  His music has already richly blessed many people in Tallahassee, Florida and other areas of the South, as he progresses on his way to reaching the masses, both locally and universally.  Currently, the final stages of his first album are being put together and Mipeace will put a serious effort towards placing his sounds into the ears of those who can relate to all types of day-to-day situations.  So, why is Michael Ray aspiring to deliver his music worldwide?

The people of the earth have at least two things in common:  (1) We all have feelings; and (2) We all have needs.  Due to his experiences, Mipeace is well aware of the joys and struggles that come with everyday living.  Therefore, as he ministers, performs, and records he concentrates on touching the listeners’ every emotion (meditative-through-celebrative) while proclaiming that Christ is the Savior of our lives and the one solution to our every problem.  You can join him as he blazes the mic at various churches, venues, events in Tallahassee and anywhere else in the world that God is leading him.

So, now you may ask, what about the history of Mipeace?  Well, he was born in the small, but significant town of Fort Valley, Georgia.  While being raised by his loving mother in a single parent home, he and his brother listened to the music of the hip hop culture as it developed into what can now be heard on the radio and in the underground.  But, Mipeace’s love for music did not start or stop with hip-hop.  He learned at an early age to appreciate rock, R&B, classical, and many other genres of music.  His admiration for music grew after he started playing the trumpet and joined his school’s marching, jazz and concert bands.  He eventually went on to become his high school’s drum major and field commander.  At the age of 13, during a dare contest with one of his friends, Mipeace wrote his first rap.  For the next few years, he did occasional writings that were based on his many sinful and rebellious activities as a teenager.  His friends and classmates could often observe him “freestyling”.  He didn’t consider recording albums until he began his last semester as a senior in high school.

After graduating from high school he entered Florida A&M University to study electrical engineering.  In the midst of pursuing a higher education, Mipeace continued rapping and also indulging in an iniquitous way of living.  During his third year at FAMU, he and one of his college buddies, formed a rap group called DeMusic.  But, after several years of dealing with the rugged trials of life, Mipeace found himself anxiously searching for the type of love, direction, and peace that he could not find in the way he was living. Then, in one day, his life took an eternal twist…. on Thanksgiving Day 2000, during a "God-centered" conversation with his cousin, Mipeace chose to take heed to the call of God and believe in/confess Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.  In light of his salvation and the society’s opinions on rap music, Mipeace became confused about whether or not he should discard the gift of rap that was given to him.  So, he consulted God and finally accepted his commission into the ministry which would involve preaching Christ through hip hop and other forms of music.  Shortly following the acceptance of the commission that God had given him, Mipeace and one his friends (an anointed man of God; the late Dion "Paradigm" Wilson; R.I.C. Rest in Christ) formed a duo named First Born.  For the next few years, while producing and recording songs, he began to minister with the group and also as a solo artist.  He went on to graduate from FAMU with his B.S. in industrial engineering.  The venues in which he has appeared include:  local churches, Florida A&M University, Florida State University, Fort Valley Middle School, Tallahassee Civic Center, the first annual Gospel Apollo (held at Florida A&M's Lee Hall Auditorium), House of Judah Ministries, United Christian Artists, an album release party, etc. (for a  full list of past and upcoming appearances see the 'Schedule' page).  He has also written, and produced, two songs that he performed while acting in a play.

Mipeace has been described as an anointed young man who loves God, has a passion for ministry and music, and understands his purpose in life.  His first solo album promises to be one that intertwines the aforementioned in such a way that leaves the listener with the feeling of wanting more, the feeling of fulfillment that comes only after every emotion has been stimulated, and most importantly, the Word of God that will guide him/her through any and all of life’s situations.  So, come hear and experience the impacting sounds of this minister, rap artist/musician, poet, producer, and entrepreneur that are inspired by rigorous trials, traverse triumphs, and the true and living God.  Feel free to check back with us often!  To God be the glory!!!  1 love in Christ...
