Jesus teaches us to (1) love our neighbor as ourself (Matthew 22:39), (2) be diligent to show ourselves approved to God, a worker who does not need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth (2Timothy 2:15), and (3) man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). In light of God's instructions, we pray that the Lord helps our neighbors and ourselves to know Him and His Word and grow in His love, wisdom, and knowledge. Therefore, if you have any questions or comments on the Word of God, please pray for understanding and if we can be of help, do not hesitate to fill out the form below with your question or comment. According to God's will, each question/comment will be reviewed and replied to in an orderly and timely fashion. We do not claim to know it all, but we do know the One that knows it all and His Holy Spirit will reveal all things to His disciples (2Corinthians 2:10-16). God bless you in Jesus' name.
"A TIME TO LISTEN AND A TIME TO
SPEAK" from
Ecclesiastes 3:7 - "...a time to keep silence, and a
time to speak.." & James 1:19-20 - "So then,
my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man
does not produce the righteousness of God."
Mipeace's Response:
(from my Facebook page) What's up friends!!!!
I'm on the way to Sunday School so this may be 1 of
the shortest notes I ever write! lol! Thank God for
waking me up early so I can get ready and still have
time enough to write what He placed on my heart. lol!
:)
Alright....so the other day, I was in a conversation
with a friend of mine. The conversation was flowing
extremely smoothly and I was gaining a lot of useful
info while still being able to give some words here
and there. I thought "why is this conversation
flowing so smoothly?" Then I noticed what was going
on: my friend and I were both taking the time to
"intently" listen to each other speak instead of
trying to talk over each other. When I spoke, my
friend would give me the time to speak and finish my
thoughts, and then I also took the time to
reciprocate the same action back to my friend.
This taught me a lot because as I seek to continue
to grow in Christ, I've learned more about the value
of good communication. In the past (and I know I'm
not alone in this area, lol!) I've subconsciously
(and sometimes consciously) tried to "force" my
words onto someone w/out "truly" listening to what
they were saying. That type of communication can
lead to arguments, misunderstandings, not gaining
useful tidbits of info, etc., etc. At times, I've
found this to also be true w/my past communications
w/the Lord. I would sometimes pray without really
seeking/listening to what His will was/is for me and
those around me.
But now, I've noticed that when I do pay attention
to when it is "a time to listen and a time to
speak", respectively, I and the person(s) that
I'm communicating with learn much more about each
other and can get so much more accomplished
according to the Lord's will (in love of course). Praise Jesus for
always listening to us and teaching us to listen and
"do" things the right way!!! God's blessings to you.
Stay in touch...peace :) James 1:2-4 "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
Mipeace's Response: This has to be one of the bible verses that I quote the most frequently! It sums up exactly how God desires we act and grow during the struggles, weaknesses, etc. that we all face. Let's insert our own personal trials and temptations into this passage of Scripture and go to Christ who will give us joy and strength, that surpasses all understanding, so that we can overcome. It would seem natural to mope and pout during hardships (and in the past many of us have done that), but when we trust in God (who is almighty) and follow Him, we will understand that those trials will be used to help us to become complete and perfect in Him. Jesus only suffered for awhile, but when the suffering was over, He was resurrected with all power in His hands! We who are in Christ are partakers in Christ's suffering, but remember that the suffering is only temporary and He will make us to rise through it all! Trust Him and joyfully follow the Lord always....Peace!
Luke 10:19-20 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpion, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
Mipeace's Response: I've been feasting on these verses all week! Go back and read the beginning of the chapter to get the whole context. Jesus is speaking to His disciples in these verses. He's letting them know that through His power and authority, He has given them power and authority over all evil. Even nowadays the followers of Christ possess that same authority but, Christ wants us to know that we shouldn't get overly joyful about having power over evil. Trampling on Satan is only a by-product of the one thing that we should fully rejoice in.....as believers and disciples of Christ our names are written in Heaven in the Book of Life! Awesome! Just imagine the author of the universe writing our names in His own personal book and by making the listing in His book we are now the owners of eternal life! What! Praise God! If your name is not already in His book here's how you can get in: 1) Recognize and acknowledge your sin 2)Repent and ask for forgiveness of your sins 3) Do Romans 10:9 (easy, if you believe) and continue to grow daily in your relationship with Jesus Christ! Oh yeah, the fee to get your name in the book was paid on the cross. God bless you. |
